Verdict

One of the more interesting contests on the card can go the way of SILKEN PROMISE, while Grove View Star, Our Kes and Warren Bank should have their say. The last-named may have bounced last time, having come back from a lengthy absence to run a highly respectable second over 1m 1f at Wolverhampton last month. It may also have been the Fibresand that disagreed with him that day, so back on the Polytrack and with three further weeks to recover he can go well. Our Kes has been a shade disappointing on her last two starts, but she does have a 10f win here to her name and the step back up in trip looks a positive. Having said that she is hard to fancy strongly given recent efforts. Grove View Star is an eyecatching booking for Eddie Ahern, but this step up from 9f at Wolverhampton last time is not certain to suit if his Irish form is anything to go by and he does have to prove he gets this far. Croix Rouge would have claims at these weights if back to the form of his run here two starts ago, but we prefer the claims of Silken Promise. Racing from the same mark of 55 as when just collared by Iguacu here last time, the drop back by a furlong looks ideal for Walter Swinburn's filly, and now that she has hit some form the time looks right for her to break that maiden tag.
