In depth

Verdict

It's hard to get away from Don Picolo in a race that won't take a great deal of winning. Ray Diamond and O'Casey may be the best alternatives. The selection runs here under a penalty having won at Southwell last week where he ran on well to get the better of favourite and last time out winner Hawa Khana. He's up in trip tonight though and still has to prove himself on this surface. Ray Diamond was having his first run since October when finishing one place in front of Herrbee over course and distance last month. He's entitled to come on for that run and races from the same mark so has to enter calculations. O'Casey had been off the track for even longer prior to his reappearance at Wolverhampton where he would have finished in front of Tilly Ann but for meeting interference. He's another quarter of a mile to cover tonight but could improve for the trip and is respected but Don Picolo may be able to call the tune.
