SION HILL gets the vote in this apprentice handicap over Sularno and Applesnap. The selection has got course and distance winning form and he arrives here on the back of a solid effort at Newmarket last week. He has a decent apprentice on board and from a middle draw he looks sure to run a big race. Sularno is even better drawn and he is on a fair mark at present. He ran well last time at Southwell when he finished third behind Byron Bay and he should be capable of getting competitive. Applesnap wasn't beaten far at Brighton last time and the race has worked out well, but she has the worst of the draw and an inexperienced pilot on board so there are reasons to oppose her. Liberty Valance could therefore be a better alternative as he has run well on his last two starts here, although this longer trip is an unknown for him. There are plenty in with chances in an open race, and the vote goes to Sion Hill.
