      Verdict

Summer Bounty, Lord Laing, Karmest and Mixing are four against the field in the closing contest and the narrow vote goes to Karmest. Alan Brown's filly is now 7lb better off with Summer Bounty for a head defeat over c&d last week, and that can prove to be decisive. The step up in trip clearly suited her that day and she can see out her effort to the line at these weights and gain compensation. Lord Laing was also victorious last time beating useful yardstick Intavac Boy at Wolverhampton, but an extra 5lb to lump around will make this tricky. Mixing races from the same mark as when a two length second to War Of The Roses last time out and looks capable of going well again, but Karmest is the one for us.
