In depth

Verdict

A good quality handicap with most of the entries in good form including the veteran Banna Man, an easy winner at Roscommon but now 9lb higher. ONE FOR JOULES is still a youngster in hurdling terms but has had enough experience and he's been in excellent form over timber and on the Flat. His recent second in a Class 2 handicap hurdle at Ffos Las was his best effort yet and he can take this under Danny Mullins. Bachelor Affair was a long way behind him at Tipperary in May and also behind today's rival Binocular last month and though he has done better since he's probably high enough in the weights. The versatile Idarah is in fine form and must be considered along with Pires, who couldn't quite cope with The Real Article at Down Royal but was hardly disgraced behind that exciting prospect.
