Verdict

Shanahan's Turn had looked a cracking prospect when landing a Grade 2 novice chase at Punchestown in November but he's disappointed subsequently. He's still a relative youngster and he could bounce back at any time. UN BEAU ROMAN looked another with a bright future when placed at Grade level in novice events and the fact that he hasn't been seen since December shouldn't be a problem as Ruby Walsh has been booked. He can make a successful handicap debut over fences. Sizing Solution wasn't far behind him at Punchestown in October and could prove a threat with a decent pull in the weights while Crown Theatre, a winner over fences at Limerick in May, wasn't suited by reverting to hurdles at Tramore a couple of weeks later. Gentleman Duke completed a double over hurdles and fences in the autumn and will be better for a run on the Flat at Sligo last month so he's on the shortlist.
