Verdict

Light Pillar has done well since arriving from France. He won one of these at Dundalk in May and later efforts including a good run behind Pallasator in the Queen Alexandra Stakes at Ascot. Willie Mullins trained the runner-up Renneti that day and runs LEGAL SPIN in this. A wide-margin winner over 1m6f here on only his second start, the three-year-old has a long way to go before becoming one of the big guns at Muine Beag but he’s going the right way and will probably make a very smart novice hurdler in time. Falcon Eight made a winning start at the Curragh last month and also looks a really nice prospect for Dermot Weld.
