In depth

Verdict

Maal has won seven times on the Flat but not for over two years. He's dropped to a lowly mark as a result and ran his best race for some time at Tipperary last time where he had the favourite Apache Gold 4l behind. The latter should get much closer over this longer trip and rates a threat to all while it's about time Zelos Dream was winning again and she ran really well at Gowran a fortnight ago when House Limit was behind. WHITETHORNE SCENT has yet to win a race and has done much of her racing on Polytrack but she's shown promise and, as she can't get much lower in the ratings, is taken to spring a surprise.
