In depth

Verdict

The betting should guide but we're going to take a chance with Art Connoisseur. The selection has been handed entries in a couple of valuable sales races for later on in the season and the booking of Jamie Spencer for his debut has to be viewed as a positive. Michael Bell has made a decent start to the season but it must be noted that this is his first juvenile runner of the campaign. Transcentral is the only runner with experience but he certainly showed enough at Warwick to suggest that there's a race in him. The second ran out an impressive winner earlier in the week and he shouldn't be underestimated. All four other runners represent yards that are capable of saddling debutant winners. All four are partnered by decent pilots whilst the yards of Beckett and Evans are in particularly good form at present. Interesting stuff, we'll take a chance with Art Connoisseur.
