Verdict

With the conditions set to be extremely testing by this point we'll take on the likely favourite Singeur in favour of TASMEEM, whilst Falasteen is likely to prove too strong for Ginger Ted and can take third. Richard Fahey sets a poser by saddling two here with Falasteen actually rated a 6lb better horse than Tasmeem, but Paul Hanagan has chosen the latter and that can prove a winning decision. Our selection has raced exclusively over this trip and won nicely on his third start at Ripon before disappointing on his final start. We're prepared to forgive that one poor run and as he's related to soft ground performers that swings the vote in his favour. Singeur has 5lbs and more in hand here but he seemed to get tired when tackling good-to-soft ground so with conditions likely to be heavy here he's narrowly opposed, despite the fact that he brings rock-solid form claims into the contest and should be hard to beat. Falasteen isn't ruled out despite the jockey bookings as he promises to act on this ground but perhaps he'll prove better over five furlongs whilst Ginger Ted has plenty to find at the weights and can be opposed, although he's the only one of these four to have proven he acts on genuinely soft ground. This is trappy and any one of the four could win but Richard Fahey and Paul Hanagan have proved worth following this season and we'll do just that by selecting Tasmeem.
