Verdict

MUFARRH rates the pick in the opener with Poor Prince and Official Style amongst the many dangers. Sir Michael Stoute won this race three times towards the start of the century with Papal Bull and Best Alibi amongst those and Official Style has shown enough in two starts to think that he can win races. He didn't have too hard a race over course and distance on debut when one of three runners from the yard before finishing strongly over the same trip at Newbury. The fourth and fifth have run well in defeat since to give that form some substance and he should go close. However, the second from that maiden, Mufarrh, also lines up and he finished four and a half lengths in front of the Stoute runner so has to rate the form pick. Poor Prince ran an eyecatching race on debut behind Dreamspeed in a race that hasn't worked out quite as well as looked likely at the time but he is held in high regard. He posted another decent run behind Stags Leap at Goodwood at the start of August and should be involved. Another that's likely to have a say is State Fair who showed ability earlier in the year and should be suited by the demands of this test whilst Stefanki showed promise but probably has a little to find. Breakheart, Hypnotized and Penrod Ballantyne all take the eye on paper but those with experience set a fair standard and Mufarrh is taken to come out on top.
