Verdict

Befortyfour appears to have left his problems well behind him on the evidence of his Great Leighs victory last time out. Michael Jarvis's charge was reported to have suffered a bad injury following last seasons Windsor Castle but has evidently got over that. Jarvis does very well with horses of this ilk and this improver can land the hat-trick here. Chartist appears the biggest danger in receipt of 5lb. It was disappointing to see him get beat last time at Chester after an excellent effort behind the exciting Corrybrough. He tends to travel very well and find little and while it may be harsh to accuse him of being un-genuine, it is worth bearing in mind he has shown signs that he thinks about the job on hand. Little Pete beat subsequent scorer Monsieur Reynard last time over the quick five furlongs at Haydock. Lady Avenger has a 7lb pull with Befortyfour for a 3 1/2l beating at Great Leighs and is also 7lb better off with Chartist after finishing well adrift of Richard Hannon's contender in the Sandown event won by Corrybrough. Befortyfour is selected to land it.
