Verdict

The market will help guide to the chances of the newcomers but Millachy sets a decent enough standard and gets the vote to win today. Diksie Dancer and Land's End make the shortlist. Whilst Millachy may yet be seen to best effect given more time, in-form Barry Hills' filly should be suited by this step up in trip (outpaced last time out) and stripping fitter for that run, she could be hard to beat. Today's slower ground shouldn't be a worry and she gets the nomination. Diksie Dancer drops to this trip for the first time which looks likely to suit given her good early pace so she warrants respect, as does Land's End who is nicely bred (by Danehill Dancer out of a Mr Prospector mare) but showed little on debut last year. Another winter may have worked the oracle though and he cannot be ruled out. Western Point is another who needs to step up on debut, along with Paul Cole's Double Bill. Give Her a Whirl represents a trainer who has been in the winners enclosure of late so cannot be left out of calculations, however Millachy can only get better with time and is taken to win at the third time of asking.
