In depth

Verdict

A small but select field for this rather interesting maiden and Churchhills Victory, who caught the eye when staying on late at Nottingham on his racecourse debut can make it second time lucky here. The Danehill Dancer colt was fractious beforehand which adds to the belief that it was a fine effort all things considered. Lucky Redback failed to step up on an encouraging racecourse debut and on what he has displayed is well down the Hannon juvenile pecking order. Cavandish Road could well emerge a bigger threat to Churchhills Victory, hailing from a yard not renowned for first time out winners yet displaying some promise at Salisbury, showing good toe before weakening inside the closing stages. Churchhills Victory is given the vote to land this juvenile contest.
