This is as competitive as the numbers suggest so the short-list could easily be extended beyond the triumvirate of PIAZZA SAN PIETRO, Island Chief and Kingswinford. The last named faces a fairly stiff task at the weights but is a consistent performer who stayed on well to win at Windsor over six and he appears to see out this trip well enough despite never having won at it. Island Chief has found life difficult in handicaps since winning by 11 lengths at Musselburgh in July but he produced a more encouraging performance last time and should relish the drop in grade. Piazza San Pietro has carried a health warning in his time although he appeared to have put his old ways behind him when winning two of his first three starts for Andy Haynes. He's not that well in at these weights but has gone well over course and distance and for a strong jockey so it's hoped that Fallon can get the best out of Piazza San Pietro.
