Rattan only won once on the Flat but was rated 91 after finishing runner-up to Covert Ambition at Kempton in June 2009. He hasn't been seen since August of that year, almost as long as Crimson Sky's absence. A very easy winner of a maiden for Aidan O'Brien in October 2009, the latter could be anything and he may prove best of the newcomers though Eightybarackstreet looked potentially useful when dead-heating in a Listowel bumper in September. Loch Long will find this opposition much more to his liking after contesting graded events for much of his career over timber though he's generally been well beaten. THE BULL HAYES was narrowly beaten on his first two starts over timber before disappointing at Cork. Hopefully that last run was just a blip and he can gain compensation, though Ballyburke should be thereabouts as he's come up against useful opposition in his two starts over hurdles after scoring between the flags and landing a bumper.
