In depth

Verdict

Achnaha has been placed at Listed and Group 3 level and appeared to find 1m2f stretching her stamina at Navan. Afternoon Sunlight showed real promise in her opening two runs and was made an odds-on favourite at the Curragh in October but couldn't quicken. She's a half-sister to Group 1 winner Casual Conquest and should do better over further. Beyond Brilliance is a half-sister to four middle-distance winners so it was a surprise to see her reappear over 6f at the Curragh where she made late headway. DASH did well to get so close on her debut here earlier this month as she missed the break and was impeded. She'll do better and is handed the vote though Peony Fairy is respected as she was always more likely to do better in her second season. Que Sera Sera is a newcomer to keep an eye on as she cost 135,000gns and is out of a mare from a Group 1 winning family.
