    Verdict

Imaam sets the standard from a form point of view but he has a poor draw and it was disconcerting to see him beaten last time, so we will take a chance on one of the newcomers, namely DOUBLE ACT ahead of Calligrapher. The selection is from a stable who can ready a newcomer and the stable are in better form now than earlier in the season. His sire Where Or When made a good start with his first crop of two-year-olds last season and whilst this colt is likely to need further in time, he may prove smart enough to win this; the market will provide some further clues. Green Onions doesn't really strike as a likely winner but a good run could see him book-er-ed for a place (groan), whilst Calligrapher received a good write-up in the stable guide at the start of the season (another groan). Remaah could be interesting on debut, but Richard Hills unsurprisingly sticks with the twice-raced Imaam. Some Time Good could prove to be a timely fillip for Mick Channon's yard, whilst improvement is needed from Aqqaal and Aurorian but that is not unlikely. A tough heat, where a chance is taken on Double Act.
