    Verdict

It could pay to stick with HOT SUGAR in this opener. Michael Appleby's charge dropped 16lb in the handicap last year and took advantage when beating the short-priced favourite Welease Bwian along with Billy Red over C&D last time and can go in again off his current mark. Neither Mother Jones or Roy's Legacy have figured off higher marks since winning on the Polytrack at the end of last year and Dancing Freddy is getting no closer despite slipping down the weights.
