In depth

Verdict

A tough race with plenty of possibles and Mighty Kitchener is taken to account for Carlton Scroop and Star Berry. The selection ran a solid second to Medieval Maiden and was perhaps a little unlucky to run up against something with such latent ability. With a number of out of form sorts, his edge of current race form is enough for us to give him a chance at this level. Carlton Scroop is always one to be watched in the market as his connections like a tilt at the ring. He did not appear to get 14 furlongs around Wolverhampton on his latest start and is swiftly dropped back in trip. Brian Meehan won't have too many 52 rated horses in his yard and Star Berry has to come into the reckoning. She met trouble in running on her latest turf outing and is unexposed on the polytrack. Hallings Overture is upped in trip to reawaken his enthusiasm for the task while Blackmail, although disappointing on his latest outing, has to be respected given the form of the Philip Mitchell yard. Bob's Yer Uncle looks best of the rest. Plenty of imponderables to overcome and Mighty Kitchener is recommended at the likely odds.
