Verdict

A maiden that the useful Aajel won last year can go to Clive Cox's Electrolyser at the main expense of newcomers Red Linnet and Royal Soverin, with The Riddler another danger. The selection was slowly away on his debut at the track and ran well in defeat only going down by half a length at the line. He had some useful sorts in behind on that occasion and given the fact that the front two pulled some way clear of the remainder, the form looks strong. The Riddler has some fair form to his name and Jamie Osbourne's son of Daylami ( as is the selection) should go well if fit after his break; he tries maiden company again rather than run the gauntlet off a mark of 79 in handicap company. Red Linnet gets weight from her rivals and the filly should be monitored in the betting, as should Mark Wallace's Royal Soverin. Clovis has the services of Jamie Spencer today but needs to step up on what he has shown so far but the blinkers are discarded and the step up in trip is likely to be in his favour. Again an open race, but Electrolyser can get off the mark at the second attempt.
