Benandonner had little excuse last time out in this grade so the vote is given to stablemate BOLODENKA. The selection has been seen over hurdles and fences of late and comes here after unseating his rider at Ludlow. He is a talented performer (hence the rating of 88) and from a good draw he should run well now dropped in grade. Northern Spy is also dropped in class; his form this year has been consistent but ultimately he is hard to win with. Geezers Colours is a course and distance winner who ran ok in defeat here last time out and should appreciate the shorter trip today, Secret Witness is blinkered for this first run for Ron Harris and needs a market check, whilst Desert Dreamer is another who may fare better now dropped in grade. River Kirov steps up in trip but he is yet to win past six furlongs so is passed over, as are Trade Centre and Ever Cheerful from average draws. At the foot of the weights Riolina and Monashee Rock need considering, having finished in-front of Ever Cheerful when the trio were outclassed by Aeroplane here last month. A great race, but not easy to solve; narrow preference is for Bolodenka.
