Verdict

The John Hills-trained STANLEY GOODSPEED comes into this in good heart having won his last two starts in handicaps here over a mile and last time over the same trip as today, seven furlongs, and he has an obvious chance off a 6lb lower mark today as he escapes a penalty for his latest success in an apprentices' handicap, getting the vote ahead of Forward Feline and Bollywood Style. John Best's mare was narrowly beaten by the selection over course and distance earlier this month but is strictly held on running that day and should again have to settle for minor honours. Conor Dore's Kyle was not beaten far by Billberry here last time and has solid claims racing off the same mark today so makes more appeal than Copperwood, who is 5lbs higher than when scoring at Kempton last time. Waterloo Dock is closely matched with Kyle on running behind Bilberry and is another to consider along with Bryn Palling's Forward Feline, who has been running well at Wolverhampton of late and now makes his debut at Lingfield. Stanley Goodspeed has an obvious chance though and is hard to oppose.
