Another competitive event where the are a number up for consideration including Silent Storm, Rezzago, Saviours Spirit, Councellor and Franksalot, and the vote goes to Silent Storm. Charlie Cyzer's gelding is reunited with Chris Catlin here. The pilot won on him over c&d two starts ago, before he struggled with both a 6lb rise and two furlongs further last time. Back over this trip he is of much more appeal and a reproduction of that winning effort would give him a clear chance of going in again. Rezzago is 3lb higher than when winning a fast ground Doncaster claimer in July, and is not without a chance. He already has winning c&d form to his name and his shrewd connections wouldn't be running him in this if they didn't think he had a winning chance, so we give him plenty of respect. Saviours Spirit capitalised on a drop in the weight to win here last time, but a 6lb rise will make this very difficult now, while Councellor is in good heart, but probably wants further to be at his best. Of the others, Franksalot is another c&d winner who is coming back to a winning mark and won't be far away, but we take Silent Storm to produce the goods.
