In depth

Verdict

In the second division of the maiden Early Promise is selected ahead of Billy Red and Ede's Dot Com. Billy Red's first two racecourse efforts have been fair so he is not ruled out of things here. Prince Of Charm has plenty to like on breeding and Ede's Dot Com was ahead of Cavendish when showing some debut promise at Windsor and is entitled to improve on that. Falcon Flyer also has something to like on breeding but Port Luanda might need further than today's trip to be seen to best effect. La Marmotte showed some promise on her second start although her other two runs have not been so good, and Early Promise comes right into it based on her Brighton second last time where she looked to have a good deal of natural speed. Overall, in fact, that might represent the best form on offer today and, accordingly, she gets the vote.
