Head Down has been placed in seven of his 10 starts and is sure to be thereabouts again but Richard Hannon's colt is proving to be expensive to follow and it may be worth chancing ANACREON, who gets the verdict ahead of Ponting. Ralph Beckett's gelding has run creditably in both starts over six furlongs so far and he should appreciate the step up in trip today. Andrew Balding's Georgina Macrae did not step up from a promising debut outing and of more interest may be Michael Bell's Garter Knight, who is now dropped down in distance having run over 1m2f in both starts so far. Mick Channon's La Gifted only beat one home on her debut at Yarmouth in September and is hard to recommend on that evidence but it may be worth siding with Anacreon. John Gosden's colt made a pleasing debut when a close up eighth in a Newmarket maiden in October and he would not need to improve much on that form to get the better of Head Down and the rest of the opposition here.
