Verdict

MATSUNOSUKE will always provide the odd heart-stopping moment as he needs to be produced late on but he may be able to go in again now that he's regained the winning habit. Ebraam and Maltese Falcon are feared most. The latter is a course specialist who won a handicap from a 4lb higher mark last year. The return to this venue should see him in a better light and he merits respect. Ebraam ran another solid race at Great Leighs on his latest start and looks certain to finish there or thereabouts but the handicapper appears to have him about right at present. Preference therefore is for Matsunosuke who must have been driving his fans to distraction as he had passed up a number of chances to take advantage of a decent mark. He got it right last time though, remains feasibly treated and is ideally suited by the way races pan out at this track so Matsunosuke gets our vote.
