In depth

Verdict

In the claimer, Night Prospector is selected ahead of Catspraddle and Spinetail Rufous. Dropping to this grade for only the second time, Night Prospector stands out, being rated 20 pounds clear of his nearest rival and he is hard to oppose. Catspraddle rates as the next best as he drops to this grade for the first time and warrants plenty of respect based on his overall form. New Options would hold place claims if recapturing his end-of-2006 best but, like the course and distance winner Spinetail Rufous and recent winner Spirit Of Coniston, they have a bit to find on ratings with Night Prospector, who is the selection.
