Verdict

Plenty with chances in this wide-open contest but ROYAL CREW appears on the upgrade as there was no disgrace to be beaten narrowly by Equation at Sligo last month and she gets the nod. Askanna is unbeaten in two points and a bumper at Kilbeggan when she loved the fast ground. Further progress looks certain and she will prove a threat along with Grangeclare Rhythm, who led for a long way before being collared at the last at Punchestown and can get competitive if ridden with more restraint. False Messenger hasn't got far in either of her two races over hurdles after landing a Wexford bumper but shouldn't be dismissed as she could turn out to be useful at this game while Crevelea Lass made a very promising return after a long break at Clonmel last month and is another likely to get involved.
