Verdict

ANOTHER AMBITION landed a beginners' chase at this meeting a year ago and, after a fine victory over hurdles at Galway last month, looks ready to score again over fences. Mahrajaan gained his first success over the bigger obstacles at Ballinrobe last time and though now 7lbs higher he probably has more to give. Runner-up Alabama Banjo is still a maiden over fences and needs some respite from the handicapper. However, he was just touched off by Francis Du Mesnil in this last year when it was run over 2m and there is little between the pair this time. Jigalo hasn't had much experience over fences but is well handicapped on his hurdles form and will be fit from racing on the Flat. Clarkey may just need this first start since March while the former UK-trained Idarah hasn't been seen since runner-up to the useful Pasco at Huntingdon in February last year.
