Verdict

Rare Society gets the nod over the likes of the Pipe pair It Takes Time and Tango Royal, with King Of The Arctic not entirely out of it. The final race on the card looks quite tricky, but Rare Society has been pretty consistent, and now that his stable is in slightly better form, he may go close to getting back to winning ways. Third in a better-class race than this at Perth last time, he can benefit from the drop in grade, although the testing ground is of concern. However, Sue Smith would not let him take his chance if she thought that he would struggle, so we shall remain loyal to the nine-year-old. It takes Time is the old man of the party at the age of 13, but has the class to figure on his best form, while stablemate Tango Royal will appreciate the return to softer ground. Strictly on Perth running, King Of The Arctic would have much the same chance as the selection, having finished a place behind in fourth and now 4lb better off, but we feel that there is a race waiting for Rare Society, and this could be it.
