Many of these will have ambitions on World Cup night including Sheema Classic and Melbourne Cup third Jakkalberry, who hasn't run since down the field in Japan in December and needed a prep run here last year. Await The Dawn put a moderate opening effort behind him with a smooth handicap victory a fortnight ago but meets stronger opposition here while Cavalryman is probably better over further. Laajooj has returned here in good heart having landed a 1m2f handicap in January and he's just as effective over this trip but the verdict has to go to MASTERSTROKE. Last seen finishing third behind shock winner Solemia on heavy ground in the Arc, he's having his first start outside of France but improved throughout his second season and his pedigree suggests he'll do even better as a four-year-old.
