Verdict

A rightly competitive handicap for the highlight of the card which may fall to in-form Kevin Ryan in the shape of the relatively lightly-raced RACY. The former Stoute inmate went close to landing the spoils on his first run for new connections when arguably unlucky not to obtain a clear run behind Ancient Cross at York. He could still be well treated and looks one to follow in decent handicaps this term. Doctor Parkes is enjoying a tremendous campaign but is nearly a stone higher already. However, he must be on the shortlist and Eric Alston has secured the services of the champion jockey. Verinco looks a possible from the foot of the handicap, whilst Striking Spirit is running into form at the right time and shouldn't be far away.
