Verdict

In a tricky conditions race to judge EXCEL BOLT was a very impressive winner on debut and we take him to follow up ahead of fellow first time up winner Jamesway while Cocktail Charlie is also in the frame. Five lengths and easing down was the impressive start to the pick's career when he won over course and distance on that opening run. We don't know how strong the form will be yet but he looked a nice prospect. Jamesway stayed on well to grab a debut win at Southwell and it will be interesting to see if he goes as well on this quicker surface while Cocktail Charlie followed his own first time up score with a narrow miss in a Novice event last time. Fifth Ave only just missed out on a place in listed company two starts ago and should go close after another decent run in defeat last time but Excel Bolt was impressive on debut and obviously likes this track
