Verdict

BLAZING HEIGHTS is our selection with Windjammer and Smiddy Hill the ones most likely to test him to the full. Consistency is very much the strong suit of Blazing Heights as he is invariably far away in handicaps of this nature. He handles give in the ground and with his better performances obtaining at this time of year, he could be very well treated vis-a-vis some of his earlier marks. Smiddy Hill is on a depressing run. That said, he has bagfuls of early pace and is off a low enough mark at present. Windjammer is clearly a horse with quirks. He has gone well for David Allan in the past and is proven in the likely going. Raccoon would be a big player in this race were the race to be on fast going. Unfortunately it isn't and since his tubing operation, he seems incapable of reproducing anything like his best form on the ground. Johnny Ebeneezer would prove a welcome winner for David Flood's operation. Mr Rooney is effective in low grade sprints though could be doubtful if the going is too testing. Lambency's better form is probably with faster ground. Blazing Heights gets the nod.
