Verdict

In such a weak race History Girl deserves respect as she makes her debut. Mark Johnston's filly is out of a dam who won as a juvenile but every aspect of her pedigree screams stamina and seven furlongs, even here, is likely to prove insufficient. Market support would alter our view, but without it JANET'S PEARL gets the vote. Considered a backward type by her trainer, this filly deserves credit for sticking on for second at Catterick having helped force a strong pace. That performance, as well as her trainer's view, suggests this stiff seven will be to her liking and she's been found a good opportunity. Fairlie Dinkum holds Arashone on their previous meeting and can confirm that form in defeat while Good Boy Jackson is surely better than he showed at Southwell and Kevin Ryan has his string going well, so expect a better run here.
