Verdict

Lesley's Choice goes well at stiff tracks but may struggle under a penalty, while The Bear is high enough in the weights and has work to do with Rasaman. The last-named loves it here and this is easier than the York handicap he contested last time but on his course and distance win in June the six-year-old has work to do with THE NIFTY FOX who gets our vote. Tim Easterby has his string in good form and this horse ran well behind Tabaret at Doncaster. The concern would be he's perhaps better with time in between races but we'll take a chance on him reversing previous form with Rasaman now 5lbs better off and winning the race for the second consecutive year. Ryan Style has work to do with The Nifty Fox on that Doncaster run and may be better served by a quick five, as opposed to this stiff one, while Jargelle has work to do under top weight and Ignatieff is only a pound higher than when winning at Redcar but this may be tougher.
