In depth

Verdict

VETVEY looks the safest option in a wide-open contest. He scored at Newcastle last Wednesday and the fact he was eased in the closing stages suggests Mark Johnston's charge can defy a 6lb penalty in this higher grade. Beaten by the narrowest of margins at Ayr in October, Sabratha is preferred to stable companion Country Waltz while Eilean Mor has claims on his second at this track earlier this month. Ventura Sands should be capable of better in time as should Iceblast, but Dolly Parton will need to step up on her recent efforts in plating company to figure.
