In depth

Verdict

Ballyhurry acts well at this course and is expected to take plenty of beating today. Jumeirah Scarer and Simply St Lucia are open to more improvement than Brace Of Doves and can provide the sternest challenges. Simply St Lucia will be suited by the ground and can be expected to be a lot sharper now that she has got the benefit of a seasonal run behind her. A mile is ideal for her and she could be good value for the forecast. Jumeirah Scarer was done for toe near the finish at Ayr on Thursday and will also be suited by this extra furlong. He is still unexposed on turf and he is one to bear in mind if Mick Channon decides to send him to Redcar at the start of next week. However, Ballyhurry is preferred for the present time, as he looks to have everything in his favour today. The assistance of Kieren Fallon virtually assures that he will not be the best value bet of the day. Still Ballyhurry does look to be the likeliest winner on the evidence available and he gets a confident vote here.
