In depth

Verdict

With the Curragh undergoing redevelopment, Naas takes over the opening fixture of the new Flat season on Turf. High numbers are generally favoured on soft ground and these youngsters are likely to find it tough. Footstepsintime is drawn best of all and hails from a yard who can get one ready but Kevin Prendergast's Pivotal colt Moonlight Bay has to overcome a low stalls position. VERBITUDE is a brother to two-year-old winner Vocaliser and a half-brother to two other winners and Jim Bolger has been in good form at Dundalk over the past few weeks. He's drawn well enough to be given the vote but Pat Smullen's mount Royal Diplomat, who cost 78,000 euros, is on the inside and may have to wait for another day.
