Verdict

Luca Cumani has been relatively quiet this season but matters have started to improve recently and DIAMOND GEYSER looks a typical project for the Newmarket handler. Much improved for the move into handicaps and a step up in trip, he fought on well to land a modest Lingfield handicap and is now expected to progress through the ranks. He's still on a workable mark and can account for primarily exposed elders. Exceptions are Jack Bear and Doesyourdogbite, who hail from predominantly jumping yards but look on the upgrade on the Flat, although the concession of over a stone to the three-year-old may prove beyond both. Turnbury deserves a shout as he's in good heart at present and Harry Dunlop's French import Flambeuse has just her second start for the yard.
