    Verdict

This is a competitive handicap and Ashes Regained looks the percentage call with Nawaqees and Cross The Line others to consider. The selection has made steady progress on each of his four runs and he got his reward last time time when he beat United Nations at Wolverhampton. That was his handicap debut and he could still be well treated on the evidence of that effort and we will nominate him as the one to beat. Nawaqees is not the most straightforward and he is best when coming off a strong gallop. If he gets that here then he should be capable of making the frame. Cross The Line is interesting here as he is on a good mark on turf now and was clearly well fancied when he finished second behind Hassaad at Ascot last time. The form has worked out well and he is a leading player here today. Tempsford Flyer is a course and distance winner and could go well at a price, but there should be more to come from Ashes Regained and he is taken to score.
