Verdict

Market support for either of the newcomers Brief Look or Kenaaya would be interesting, however HIDDEN BRIEF is already rated 95 and a repeat of her latest fourth to Perfect Truth at Chester should be enough to win this. Following two fair efforts in maiden company, Michael Jarvis then stepped this filly up in grade to contest the Cheshire Oaks and find out whether she would be good enough for a trip to Epsom. Beaten four lengths at the line, she showed that she probably wasn't however the drop back in class for this well-related daughter of Barathea should see her in front. Brief Look is a regally-bred filly and she is in the best hands possible with trainer Henry Cecil, the man who has trained nine Oaks winners (so nearly ten this year); any market move for her would look significant although her late introduction to the racecourse might hint that she is still immature. Kenaaya cost 300,000 Euros and although that is no barometer for success, connections will be hoping for a bold show on this debut run. She is the first foal of an unremarkable French mare but presumably she must be a bit of a looker to have commanded such a fee. Going For Gold needs to improve on her two juvenile runs but she is bred to be better with age and the step up in trip will suit. Nothing else stands off the page and so we will return to Hidden Brief as the likeliest winner.
