In depth

Verdict

Leading Edge, El Fuser and Flying Applause are the trio to consider here, with El Fuser taken to come out on top in an open contest. Leading Edge has finished second on four occasions since scoring at Nottingham in November, including a narrow defeat last time at Lingfield on the all-weather. He is yet to show the same level of form over seven furlongs but looks a leading player and can hit the frame. Flying Applause is seven pounds higher than when losing his maiden tag at Lingfield in November. However, he is thoroughly consistent and hails from the in form Alan King yard-he has a strike rate of better than one in six with his Flat performers. He may just need the run but can go well. El Fuser showed some promise in three outings as a juvenile, and belied his starting price when just touched off at Headquarters on his re-appearance. He has been raised four pounds for that commendable effort and El Fuser can show that is still on a lenient mark.
