In depth

Verdict

There should be plenty of future winners identified by this race and from a main shortlist that contains Chelsea Chelsea, Judge, Alsadaa, Super Frank, The Last Drop and Acts Of Grace, we will side with Super Frank. Let's run through these. Chelsea Chelsea has a very likeable pedigree and, if the market speaks in his favour, would be of interest. The $200,000 purchase, Deepwater Bay, is interesting from the Andrew Balding yard, while Degas Art is another to get a good mention on its pedigree. The Godolphin runner, Highlander, is of obvious interest, while, being a well-bred son of Giant's Causeway, Judge has also to be considered. There is plenty to like about Night Crescendo's breeding, while Richard Hannon's Ordnance Row, a half-brother to Tregarron, also gets a good mention. Alsadaa is related to some good winners and is another to be granted plenty of respect in this interesting affair, while Beau Nash showed promise on the soft at Sandown last time, and Super Frank is a brother to the smart Privy Seal. An 80,000 guineas son of Galileo, The Last Drop is another to consider, while Acts Of Grace, a half-sister to numerous winners including the Haydock Sprint Cup winner, Invincible Spirit, and Miss Hepburn is another well-bred runner from a stable that has caught the eye this season. All in all, it adds up to a fascinating contest in which it was tempting to side with Chelsea Chelsea as they seem to win most things these days but, instead, Super Frank got the call.
