In depth

Verdict

Noble Jack sets a decent standard having found one too good in each of his two starts so far, latterly here over six furlongs; Richard Hannon's colt should not be inconvenienced at all by the extra furlong today and he gets the vote to go one better ahead of Whispering Angel and Dreamwalk. The last mentioned ran a promising race on his debut when chasing home Oratory at Salisbury last month and Ralph Beckett's colt has to be respected under Seb Sanders. Walter Swinburn's team have begun to hit form now so Perfect Citizen, who made a pleasing debut at Sandown, can be expected to build on that first effort. Richard Hannon, as well as the selection, saddles Hambledon Hill but he would probably want a softer surface and of more interest may be Paul Cole's newcomer Kayfiar. Related to several winners and from a yard that knows how to ready a newcomer, he has to be of interest. Brian Meehan's Whispering Angel ran better than may have been expected on a soft surface on his Newmarket debut and has to be strongly considered with the yard among the winners but preference is for Noble Jack.
