Verdict

Three-year-olds and older horses have shared the honours in this in recent years but Mujazif is the only one representing the classic generation this time and his overall form appears to fall short of the standard required. French Navy made a winning reappearance in a Listed race at Windsor and likes to get his toe in. He's a former Group 3 winner so must have every chance here, despite the double penalty. Bonfire and Questioning have both been very disappointing this year, however, while Navajo Chief is only a handicapper. TALES OF GRIMM has changed stables since finishing fifth in the Diomed Stakes at Epsom in June but Ryan Moore keeps the ride and it's just possible that a change of scenery will have rekindled the enthusiasm of this once highly-regarded colt - he gets a tentative vote.
