Verdict

The mighty Nayef won this 17 years ago but it’s importance as a classic pointer has dwindled in the interim years. But Nayef’s owner and trainer are represented this time by 175,000gns Dawn Approach newcomer Khazaf and he should be monitored in the betting. Haydock winner White Mocha ran well under a penalty at Salisbury and looks a useful recruit but BON SCOTTE had the form of his Goodwood success franked when runner-up Kitaabaat won at Sandown on Wednesday so he gets the nod. Macaque has only won a Brighton match so far and fellow previous winner Sallab also probably needs to improve again to figure. Candidate and Knight To Behold will find easier opportunities in the future.
