Alaadel has decent claims on his earlier placed efforts over 6f in testing ground but Pettochside looks to have the stronger form. The latter is penalised for beating Baron Bolt at Goodwood recently with previous Salisbury winner Clear Spring back in third. But DARK MAGIC won a maiden at Newmarket in July with any amount in hand and he gets a speculative vote to show further progress on today’s handicap debut. Both Repton and Moonraker slip further down the weights and could go well off their current marks.
