In depth

Verdict

Abolition, Runswick Bay and Berrymead are the three to look at here and preference is for Abolition. Berrymead has shown promise on both his outings to date, finishing a close fourth at Beverley on his debut, before filling the same position at Southwell. He can go well again here and hit the frame at least. Runswick Bay finished just ahead of Berrymead at Beverley, before another good effort followed at Newcastle, finishing a close third. He can handle variable conditions, and should uphold his superiority over Berrymead. Mark Johnston's Abolition was a half length ahead of Runswick Bay at Newcastle, and he should come on for the experience of his debut run. That effort came on good to soft ground, so he should be able to handle the underfoot conditions here. Abolition can take the opener.
